If you ever:

go to a salad bar, don't spill all over. Especially croutons in the dressing.

end up spilling, I will hunt you down.

Confession.

Sometimes (read: most of the time) after I swim,

I don't wash my hair, just because I love the smell of chlorine so much.

It's summer, you know?

6.18.2011

No, seriously.

...I went to Disneyland with my best friend.

We ate at the Blue Bayou, which cost a whole lot of money. But it was also so worth it. Because now each time I ride on Pirates and drift through the fireflies and hear the soft banjo and look up with envy at everyone eating (my hands down favorite part of that ride - that, to me, is the feeling of Disneyland), I can say "Yeah, I ate there once."

(you can't see me, but I'm totally in this picture)

We watched World of Color, which was beautiful. I was in awe the whole time, and kept getting the chills.

We met an adorable boy while we were waiting for World of Color, too. He was five. He said to me, "I'm never going to forget you. And I'm going to send you a flower so you will never forget me.... but when I'm six." Good boy - you don't want to get mixed up in flowers and girls and flirting at the age of five - wait till you're six. He was the cutest.

Maddy got a birthday pin (her birthday was June 2nd), and we both got graduation pins. It was great walking around the park and hearing "Congratulations!" And "Happy Birthday!" every 5 minutes. I love that Disneyland trains their employees to do that. It makes you smile every time.

We totally got onto Midway Mania (Toy Story) without waiting in line, too. When we looked all dejected after asking the guy guarding the entrance how long the wait was, he handed us passes through the exit. It was SWEET.

We spent a whole lot of extra money on things like Dole whips, corn dogs, churros, popcorn, and hot chocolate. But I don't care. Because it was all delicious and made the experience better.

(pretend we're eating something in this picture....
also, I just thought you should see our identical faces)

After a lovely time in Disneyland, Maddy and I spent the rest of the week in Oceanside, being lazy, watching a beautiful movie, sitting in the hot tub, collecting shells, lying out on the beach, taking walks, talking, being splashed by freezing waves, reading, visiting Sea World, walking out on a jetty, visiting a pier, and spending time with Maddy's relatives. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of this part of the week, due to the fact that all I had was a disposable camera, since I couldn't find my real one one. Luckily for you, I drew you a picture that is completely true to what happened, and almost better than actual photos:

Anyway, there you have it - my awesome first week of summer.

Soon, I'll have to actually tell you about graduation, I suppose. Since that happened before this trip anyway. Psh. But who does things chronologically anyway?

In case you were wondering.

Two incredibly eventful things happen one month from today.

Firstly:

Yeah no really - it all ends. I would attempt to sufficiently convey my excitement/happiness/expectations/sorrow/nostalgia, but it would end up being insufficient, even if I tried.

So I won't.

Secondly:

These two lovebirds get hitched (if you don't know who "these two lovebirds" are, it's my sister and her fiance). This engagement picture is my favorite, because it's totally a candid to describe why I love them.

Oh oh oh. Also, a month from tomorrow, I turn 18. That's pretty groovy too.

So basically a month from this time-ish, I will be all smiles.

Isn't life beautiful?

Mmmm

...That right there was a sigh of summer loveliness.

I just got back from SoCal with my best friend in the whole world (more to come). I also graduated over a week ago and had the best experience ever with graduation because I have such an awesome life. It's summer, and life keeps getting better.

You know when you get super sick of typing/texting? It's happening right now.

So why am I writing a blog post?

Well, I was just blog stalking on my super cool new computer, reading about classy people doing classy things as they enjoy summer. And I decided I will go class it up with one of the classiest people I know (how many times can I fit 'class' into a sentence? A lot.). But first, I thought I'd assure you* that I will be posting things soon. Interesting things that maybe you will stalk and say "classy".

Ta ta for now!

*Because, obvi** you are crying since I haven't posted and me and my posts mean the world to you. Yes, really we bloggers all apologize for not posting, but it's not like it's something to apologize about, because people most likely definitely didn't miss us on the world wide web (most likely definitely is such a contradiction - I adore it). ''

**So what. I just abbreviated obviously. Deal with it. Sometimes, it happens.

This is it.

...No really, this is it.

I can hardly believe it. Actually, I can't at all.

I graduate from high school tomorrow.

What a strange concept. To be completely down with something that has been a part of my life since I was 5. No more of the public school system. No more lockers. No more theatre. No more so many things.

About this time last year, we as a student council went on a great retreat- Bird's eye. It was there that Kelsey and I submitted that "This is it" be our theme for the year, and it was there that all the SBOs agreed on it. Despite the fact that often this theme has seemed over-used and many jokes were made off of it, I am so grateful for our theme. What better motto to go with our final year of high school?

Because really, this is it. I hate when people go through life with a "I'll be happy when" mentality. "Oh, I'll be happy when I'm in college." "When I have a family." "When I get through school."

No. Be happy now, because this is what's happening. This is it.

And now I've reached such a pivotal "this is it" moment in my own life, with graduation less than 24 hours away. Everything is going to change. I'm fine with that change, in all honesty. Maybe it hasn't settled in and I'll be an emotional wreck next fall, but let's hope not.

I'm pretty sure I might shed some tears at graduation tomorrow though. And yay me, I get to sit on the stand for everyone to watch me cry. So if you happen to see that, just pretend you didn't. Also, find me at graduation all you people, I want a picture.

So guys: it's been fun, and I can't wait for our futures - because they're here, right before us.

This is it.
