People who radiate negativity.
I feel drained every time I'm around them. They put me in a bad mood, even if I'm not. They can't realize that they have a really great life and that they themselves are the ones who control their happiness.
Yes, you can't always control circumstances. But you can always control the way you react to them.
I understand that sometimes, it's okay to have a bad day. It's relieving to mope a bit, to be sad for a second, and to frown for just a moment. Because yes, circumstances can be sad. But they key is how long these moments last, and how often they occur.
There comes a point where you just need to take control of your own life and be happy with what you've been given. To quote a friend on a mission, "Focus on the blessings that you have in life and more will come. If you Focus on the bad....same thing happens. More will come."
Seriously, though, this is so true.
I'll have sympathy for these friends if they are extremely stressed, their life has a lot of seemingly unfair circumstances, and they're exhausted. Like I said before, sometimes being negative can let out some sad feelings inside. I'll give you a hug if you need one, let you cry if you need to, and try to offer whatever advice and comfort I can.
But some people refuse to acknowledge the positive in their lives. And then I realize that it always seems to be the same people. Those who are generally happy, stay happy. Those who get in bad moods a lot are often in bad moods. And unfortunately, I've lost most of my sympathy for these negative people by this point.
The difference between positive people and negative people is not their circumstances. In fact, generally speaking, most of them have near equal portions of joys and trials in their lives. The difference in these people is in their attitudes toward life.
And frankly, I'm getting really sick of negative attitudes.
